Self-Service Kiosk App

Large-format ordering for fast-food kiosks

This self-service ordering app was designed to run on large-format kiosk hardware — the kind you find at MAX and McDonald's. The user is standing right in front of the screen, often in a noisy environment, usually hungry, and almost always in a rush. That context shaped every decision. Touch targets were sized for real fingers on real glass, not a mouse cursor. The visual hierarchy was built to guide someone through a full order in under two minutes — category, item, size, cart, done — without needing to read instructions.

The deep blue system creates a calm anchor in a typically chaotic environment. Font sizes and contrast ratios were validated against WCAG standards, with extra attention to how the UI holds up under the harsh overhead lighting common in fast-food restaurants. When the environment is loud and busy, the interface needs to be the quietest thing in the room.
